The world needs you.

We all know that the world needs to change. Systems are broken, people are disillusioned, and the planet is at the brink of being harmed beyond repair. It’s clear that something needs to change, but how? And by who?

At The Spark we’re passionate about supporting the next generation to flourish. The world is in the midst of a paradigm-shift from old ways of doing to new ways of being, and that shift is essential, if we want our children and our children’s children to grow up in a healthy and equal world.

The old ways of fighting the world’s challenges are no longer working. Blaming, judging, criticising and going to war with our problems doesn’t work. It’s time to shift from being on-problem to on-purpose, with conscious awareness.

To do that, we need a new generation of changemakers. People who are passionate about leading with integrity, offering solutions from their hearts not just minds, and solving problems consciously. We need people to step into their power and to take actions that support the many, not just self-serving efforts which provide for the few.  

We’re creating a community of inspired thinkers + doers who are ready to put their purpose and passions into action to support people + planet.

The world doesn’t need more leaders to stand on platforms spouting empty promises. Instead of talking about what needs to be done, we must embody the energy of the new. Instead of resonating with the problems we align with the solutions and create space for new ideas to emerge. Rather than doing, Spark-inspired folks lead by being.

The Spark recognises that each person has a unique energy to share with the world. When humans take action from this place of inspiration they unleash their Spark into the world and create from a higher place of consciousness.

Our Spark Sessions for Changemakers are designed to spark new ideas, new connections, new collaborations and partnerships, and create a ripple effect of inspiration in our communities.

Being a changemaker, leader, activist, entrepreneur or trailblazer is hard. It can be lonely and isolating, and often our passions can be derailed by our inner critic before our ideas have even seen the light of day! If you’ve been looking for a new tribe of like-minded people, or to connect with your purpose again, or brush up on your changemaking skills, then the Spark Sessions are for you.

Thanks to funding from the lovely people at Plan for Peace, we launched an initial series of in-person events in the South Wales area in 2023 and we continue to meet on a bi-monthly basis. We’ll be back on Thursday 21st March 2024 from 6-9pm for our next event – you can book your space here. You can expect to hear from some super inspiring speakers, learn more about The Spark and our mission, network informally with like-minded people who are out there doing it (not just talking about it), and you’ll have the chance to share what you’re working on if you wish to, in our Lightning Talks session, where anyone in the room can take the stage for up to 2 minutes (but no pressure to, of course!).

The most important thing about these events? They’re for everyone, including you. You can sit at the back, drink a coffee or glass of wine and just listen, or you can work the room like a pro and shout about what you’re doing. There’s no judgment, no expectations, no pressure.

• I don’t work with children and young people, that’s not my passion. Can I still come?

Absolutely! Children and youth are our passion, not necessarily yours. Whatever work, volunteering or passion projects you’re doing, we know that ultimately it’s about helping future generations to flourish. Bring whoever you are and whatever you’re working on, it all helps.

• I’m not a changemaker or an entrepreneur, can I still come?

We hate to break it to you, but you are a changemaker! If you came across this blog, and it resonates with you in some way, it’s because you’ve got a strong desire burning inside to change the world in some way, and chances are you’re already doing it. So many of us discount our own efforts, fail to recognise the value we bring and don’t see ourselves as leaders and role models. Come along and give it a go, and maybe we can convince you that you’ve already got what it takes to make a difference.

• Is this yet another business-networking-sales-pitch type of event?

Nope. That works for some people, but not for us. These events are about connection, collaboration and inspiration. No one will sell you anything, unless you want to head for a beer after!

• What is this ‘Spark’ thing you’ve mentioned?

We’ll explain more about the Spark on the night, but check out this blog for a heads-up.
